Scientists say they finally know the age of the moon. What does the Bible say?

Today the news reported that “A new analysis of lunar rocks brought to Earth by Apollo astronauts suggests that the moon formed 4.51 billion years ago — just 60 million years after the solar system itself took shape.” “Some previous studies have argued for a younger moon that coalesced 150 million to 200 million years after the solar system was born.”

What do Biblical sources, that predate Apollo collected rocks by almost 2000 years, say about the age of the moon?

Pirkê de Rabbi Eliezer (circa 100 CE) specifies that the moon formed no more than 2/3 of an hour after the sun. Now that’s a Creation hour. When we convert the hour from creation time to our time we get 106.53 million years; which means that the moon formed no more than 70 million years after the sun, matching the new scientific measurements!

To read more about the sun and the moon see The Genesis One Code. The 3rd edition of the book, published yesterday, has been revised and updated based upon reader feedback.

While the new measurements for the age of moon are correct, based on well-established facts, the age of the moon relative to the gravitational time frame of earth should be less.

Mind experiment – atomic clocks are placed, simultaneously, on the earth and the moon 4.51 billion years ago. Today, the earth’s clock would read 4.51 billion years. The moons clock would show a longer time span due to its smaller gravitational time frame. Einstein’s / red shift

If the new measurements are adjusted for the gravitational time frame difference of the earth and the moon, the moon would be younger than 4.51 billion years from the earth’s observation point, while the new measurements are right from the moons observation point

Or the time variation is too small within these parameters, and I should stop reading academic work written for blue collar intellectuals.
